病院が行うべき最重要事項

患者中心とよく言われる。自分もそれこそが正しいとつっぱってきた。しかし実際自分のすべてを患者のために犠牲したわけではない。

 

気が遠くなるほどの無休の時間外労働もしたし、労働基準法どころか致死的なレベルの仕事量をこなしてきたしそれなりの充実感も味わうことができた。

 

しかし子供ができて自分の守るべきものができてくると、そうは言っていられなくなってくる。

 

結局、医療の需要は無限にあるわけで、医療者と患者とのせめぎ合いの部分は必ずある。それに対してのシステムができないので、医療者は自分で自分を守らなければならない。そこでそれぞれの性格、哲学、生活がでる。それはそれでおもしろいが、自分はこれからの時代はそれではいけないと考えている。それは病院のトップがお金の計算とともにやらなければいけない最重要事項であろう。

I am often told that I am patient-centered. I have always believed that this is the right thing to do. But the truth is that I have not sacrificed everything I have for my patients.

I've worked overtime on a 24/7 basis to the point of feeling faint, and I've done a level of work that is lethal, not just under the Labor Standards Act, and I've experienced a certain amount of fulfillment.

However, once I had children and had something to protect, I couldn't say that anymore.

After all, there is an infinite demand for medical care, and there will always be a struggle between medical professionals and patients. Since there is no system in place to deal with this, medical professionals have to protect themselves. This is where their personalities, philosophies, and lives come into play. This is interesting in itself, but I believe that this is not the way of the future. This is the most important thing that the top management of a hospital must do along with the calculation of money.
